Verb Infinitive

The infinitive verbs in Acholi are marked by the suffix -o.

For example:

  • stem: nin | infinitive: nino - to spend the night
  • stem: bed | infinitive: bedo - to spend the day
  • stem: nyut | infinitive: nyutto - to introduce oneself

Note! The stem is rarely alone. There is always a prefix of some sort. For example, a subject prefix as in arii (I spend the day).
