Grammar Notes

Apology Expressions: maaf korben, dukkhito

Maaf korben (Please forgive) is a formal apology. Ami dukkhito (I am sorry) expresses regret. Doya kore maaf korben (Please forgive me) is more emphatic. For minor issues: Eta amar bhul (This is my mistake).

Leave-taking: aashchi, khoda hafez

Aashchi means “I am coming” but in farewell contexts means “I’ll be back” or “See you.” Jachchi (I am going) announces departure. Khoda hafez and Allah hafez are standard goodbyes. Biday (farewell) is more formal.

Well-wishing

Bhalo thakun (Stay well) is a common parting wish. Abar dekha hobe (We will meet again). Apnake dekhe bhalo laglo (Good to see you / It was nice meeting you).
